
Owner/Staff
Glendale Gymnastics programs and training are under the direction
of Gerald Spencer, a former national competitor and a fully
certified coach of this sport for more than 30 years. He's
been involved in gymnastics for over 40 years. He is ably
assisted by his wife, Danette, who is a National Judge, with
a background in dance and choreography. Their son, Drew Spencer,
coaches the team and assists with classes. He is a graduate
of Ohio State University, having competed 4 years with the
OSU Buckeye Gymnastics team. Drew has been coaching competitive
gymnastics for over 16 years. Our highly qualified staff is
selected based on their ongoing training and ability to teach
correct techniques and fundamentals. They are all safety certified.

Location:
Glendale Gymnastics is located in Parkersburg, West Virginia, 1/2 mile north of Vienna on Route 14 in a 8500 sq. ft. building filled with AAI bars, Speith, AAI, and Nissan beams, loose foam pits for bars and tumbling, spring floor, 30 ft. tumble trac, AAI vaulting horse, as well as all the equipment for the men's Olympic training.

Directions from I-77:
Exit #179 Emerson Ave. At the end of the ramp, take a left
on Emerson Ave. Go about 2-3 miles to the first traffic light
and take a right on Rosemar Rd. Go another 2-3 miles till
the road dead ends at Rt. 14. Take a right on Route 14 and
go about 1 tenth of a mile. Glendale Gymnastics is located
on the right hand side of the road, just pass the Glendale
Storage buildings.
Directions from Marietta:
Cross the Williamstown bridge to the first traffic light.
Take a right on Route 14 for about 5 miles. Glendale Gymnastics
is located on the left just pass Boaz.
Directions from the mall:
Go north on Rt. 14, through Vienna, pass Scott's Landscaping.
Glendale Gymnastics is located on the right just pass the
Glendale Storage buildings.

Tot Class (Learn 1-3)
Preschool Class(Learn 1-5)
Regular Class (Learn 1-10)
1. Stay with your teacher. (in your group)
2. Jump in pit feet first.
3. Wait until your instructor is beside you to climb on the
trampoline or tumble trak.
4. Do not mount on equipment that does not have blue under
it.
5. Always walk around floor mat to get to water fountain or
bathroom.
6. Only practice the strength, flexibility or skills at home
that has been okayed by instructor.
7. Stretch slowly (never bounce) when doing splits.
8. Listen to instructions before attempting new drills.
9. When finishing skills or dismounting from equipment - always
land on feet and with a bend.
10. Attempt only skills that you are ready to do - don't compare
yourself with what others are doing; their skill level, strength
and experience may be quite different from yours.
